FINALLY! Here it is: Footage of the “prequel” to WayForward’s Xtreme Sports on Gameboy Color. Please ignore the “ding-dong” sound effect, quirk of the capture program. Alright, in-depth explanation for anyone that cares to read descriptions: Before they made Shantae, WayForward made a Gameboy Color game called Xtreme Sports where you could play as either a hot redhead named Guppi or her boyfriend Fin. The game itself was a collection of 5 “Xtreme Sports” mixed with an RPG adventure element as you walked around Xtreme Island and challenged people. While the game wasn’t particularly great or anything, it had some neat ideas an amazing art and sprite work. Well if you type in a cheat code you can access a hidden design sketch gallery where you find pics of a character called “Roller-Babe” and Guppi mentions that Xtreme Sports was made as a sort of Gameboy Color version of a PC game called Xtreme Sports Arcade Summer Edition and Guppi herself was based on Roller-Babe (“I think she’s a cousin of mine.”). Well I always wondered what the game was like…but there was NO info ANYWHERE on the internet about it! NO videos on YouTube! Heck you couldn’t even find a SCREENSHOT! So I said “Heck with it, I’ll do it!” and grabbed a copy off Amazon.com for . For the record, the jewel case only version would actually be less cheap packaging. The full box one just contains the game in a paper sleeve tucked inside the tiny instruction book that advertises other cheapo shovelware games …
